Spring Muster

Friday, April 19, 2013 to Sunday, April 21, 2013

Educational Event

Join the Friends of Gettysburg, the membership arm of the Gettysburg Foundation, April 19-21, for the annual Spring Muster, their largest Friend-raising event of the year. Whether you are a novice Civil War aficionado or a seasoned veteran, you will come away with a better understanding of the Battle of Gettysburg and the Civil War.

The activities for the weekend will begin Friday evening at 4:00 p.m. in the Members’ Lounge of the Wyndham Hotel Gettysburg.

Saturday’s events begin at 7:00 a.m. in the Members’ Lounge of the Wyndham.  Battlefield tours starting at 8:15 a.m. and led by historians and Licensed Battlefield Guides will offer a variety of choice such as Daniel’s North Carolina Brigade, There Is No Fail Here, We Never Expected a Battle, and many others that promise to educate and enlighten.  After a full day of tours on Saturday, cocktails and a banquet will be held beginning at 6:15 p.m. at the Wyndham Ballroom. A silent auction and basket raffle will take place during the banquet.

Sunday you will enjoy the First Corps Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. with featured speaker Carol Reardon, author of several Civil War related books.  Following the breakfast, you can then join the Gettysburg Preservation Walk, a 45-minute walk on the battlefield led by Licensed Battlefield Guides.  Our theme this year is titled “Walking in the Footsteps of the 1913 Reunion Veterans.”

Registration Deadline is April 5, 2013.  Open to members and non-members, the cost of this event is $140* members and $165* non-members.
