About the Gettysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau

The Gettysburg Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official tourism promotion agency of Adams County, Pennsylvania. Established in 1955 as the Gettysburg Travel Council, our organization has grown from a small location at the Historic Lincoln Train Station to a three locations a Visitor Information Center in Historic Gettysburg, a Community Information Desk at the Gettysburg National Military Park, and an administrative and information center on West Middle Street.

We are a membership organization, here to assist the visitor, our members, and the community. Our activities are based on the value provided to the visitor, member and community, and the overall economic impact. It is our ongoing goal to promote Gettysburg as a premier travel destination.

Our mission is to promote tourism and its positive economic benefits. In doing so, the Gettysburg Convention & Visitors Bureau will lead the Adams County tourism industry in presenting a positive visitor experience while preserving its rich cultural heritage; and promoting all member tourism related businesses, throughout the County. This mission will be completed by aggressive marketing, building partnerships with federal, state and local entities while maximizing all available resources.

The Gettysburg Convention & Visitors Bureau currently prints an annual Visitor Guide to assist in planning your visit to Gettysburg and other communities within Adams County. We also operate this website, providing daily updates to visitors, as well as a quarterly e-Newsletter.
