Educational Speaker Program, presented by Historic Gettysburg Adams County
"General Robert E. Lee"
Tuesday, June 18, 2013
Time: 7:30pm
Educational Event
General Robert E. Lee will cross the Mason-Dixon line to enter the historic Grand Army of the Republic hall to share his reasons for rejecting the command of the United States Army, the two most sublime words in the English language that guided him through life, his battle tactics as he entered Pennsylvania and Gettysburg, his retreat, and Lee's thoughts about his life as a Virginian, husband, father, and as a general of 32 years in the United States Army.
Kutztown U & Lehigh University graduate, educator, and town resident, Frank Orlando, brings revered General Robert E. Lee to life inside the GAR hall. Orlando takes us back 150 plus years to an era of intense Christian values, history making events and a love story that lasted 39 years.
These seven free educational programs are presented in the historic handicapped accessible GAR building on the third Tuesday of each month March-October. No reservations necessary. For more information contact Regina Hollar at 717-334-8312 or [email protected].
