After a series of cold days and nights and an increase in snowmaking volume throughout the past week, Liberty Mountain will open for skiing and snowboarding this Friday morning, Dec. 10 at 9 a.m.
At this point, the resort anticipates opening with a minimum of seven trails with more terrain available as snowmaking operations allow. There will be terrain for everyone, from the beginner to the advanced skier or rider, as well as the popular West Side Terrain Park. Opening information for Boulder Ridge Snow Tubing has not yet been announced.
As a special to kick-off the start of the season, Liberty is offering some great deals through Dec. 23. For guests ages 8 and older interested in learning to ski or snowboard, the resort is offering a special $39 rate for the First Class Beginner Package. Regularly priced at $84, the all inclusive package includes a beginner area lift ticket, ski or snowboard rental equipment and a class lesson. For those with some previous slope experience, class lessons at all ability levels ages 8 and older are available for only $10 throughout the same time period.
Liberty Mountain operates seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. midweek and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekends. The first event of the season, Winter Solstice, will be held on Dec. 18 and 19 with fun activities for the whole family as well as a special appearance from Santa. There will also be an Ultimate Tailgate Party on Sunday, Dec. 19. Guests are invited to watch the football games on the big screens around the resort as well as show support by wearing your favorite team jerseys and apparel.
