The Majestic Theater presents the Russian National Ballet Theater in their performance of Sleeping Beauty on Thursday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. Spend an evening with Russia’s leading dancers performing Tchaikovsky’s beloved music bringing the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty to life in music and dance.

“This is first class ballet coming to Gettysburg,” said Jeffrey Gabel, Executive Director of the Majestic Theater. “Sleeping Beauty is one of the most gorgeous scores for dance and the Russian National Ballet is at the top of their field. Here is a chance for people to come out for a great night of dance and entertainment. This is great ballet.”

The Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded in Moscow during the transitional period of Perestroika in the late 1980s, when many of the great dancers and choreographers of the Soviet Union’s ballet institutions were exercising their new-found creative freedom by starting new, vibrant companies dedicated not only to the timeless tradition of classical Russian Ballet, but to invigorate this tradition as the Russians began to accept new developments in the dance from around the world.

Today, the Russian National Ballet Theatre is its own institution, with more than 50 dancers of singular instruction and vast experience, many of whom have been with the company since its inception.

Tickets for Sleeping Beauty are priced from $41 to $47, reserved seating.
