Find out why May is one of the best months to be outdoors as the forest comes alive on a beautiful spring evening at Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve. The preserve will host a guided evening nature walk on Wednesday, May 27, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Were not going to be looking for anything in particular, says Strawberry Hills environmental educator, Eddy Rubin, who will lead the hike. Mostly well just be enjoying being out in nature on a spring evening.

The event, which is open to the public and appropriate for all ages, is $5 for Strawberry Hill members and $8 for non-members, with children ages 3 and under free of charge. Pre-register by May 26 by calling Strawberry Hill at (717) 642-5840. Strawberry Hill is located at 1537 Mount Hope Road, three miles outside Fairfield, Pa.

For more than 20 years, the non-profit Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve has managed its 609-acre preserve as a living classroom for the community. Open to the public year-round, Strawberry Hill offers a picnic area, nature center and 10 miles of walking trails through wooded hillsides and along mountain streams. It provides educational programs and special events throughout the year. To learn more about Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve, please visit www.strawberryhill.org.
