Willow Pond Farm is pleased to announce that Bruster�s lavender flavored ice creams will be featured at this year�s Pennsylvania Lavender Festival, June 19-21, 2009 in Fairfield, Pa.
In making the announcement, Willow Pond Farm�s Executive Chef Madeline Wajda said she had been trying to find a festival ice cream vendor for several years and was excited at Bruster�s willingness to accept the challenge of making new ice cream flavors.
Sue Munshour, manager of the Gettysburg Bruster�s, said she would be making several different flavors including Lavender/Vanilla, Lavender/Strawberry, Lavender/Black Raspberry, and Lavender/Dark Chocolate. According to Munshour, blending Willow Pond Farm�s lavender into the mix �was an interesting challenge, but we now have recipes that everyone agrees are superb.�
The Pennsylvania Lavender Festival is held each year at Willow Pond Farm in Fairfield, Pa., near Gettysburg. The event features all things lavender including demonstrations, workshops, herbal food, music, and vendors. To learn more, visit the festival website at www.palavenderfestival.com.
