Elizabeth Taylor, Charlton Heston, James Stewart, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers are just several of the movie legends that will be featured on the big screen during this summers Classic Movie series at the Majestic Theater.

For 12 Wednesday evenings from June 3 through August 26, patrons can enjoy some of the greatest movies in cinema history beginning with The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) and concluding with Top Hat (1935). The selections span four decades, including The Maltese Falcon by director John Huston to Show Boat, the lavish production of Jerome Kern and Ocsar Hammerstein. Each showing begins at 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the marvelous films people really enjoy, there is the very special way we present the films including theater organ music before the show starts along with our free raffle for valuable live show tickets and my entertaining & informative background introductions to the films all at no extra charge, said Jeffrey Gabel, Founding Executive Director of the Majestic Theater.

Some of the other great classics will be, The Music Man, Wuthering Heights, Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, National Velvet, The Grapes of Wrathall twelve of these larger-than-life movies are too big to enjoy on television. Youve got to see them on the big screen, like they were meant to be seen. Gabel adds that last summers Classic Movie series the Majestics second exceeded expectations, and he anticipates that this summers films will attract even larger audiences.

Classic Movie tickets are priced at $5.50 each. Patrons receive a 25 percent discount when purchasing a series pass for all 12 movies. Popcorn, refreshments, beer, and wine are available for purchase at each showing.

To purchase tickets, call (717) 337-8200 or stop by the Box Office, 25 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, Pa. Box Office hours are Monday through Saturday from noon until 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 3 to 7:30 p.m.
