Hundreds of travel operators will converge on Gettysburg in March 2010 as part of the Maryland Motorcoach Group Leader Marketplace.

Gettysburg was selected through a bid submitted by the Gettysburg Convention & Visitors Bureau. In the Maryland Motorcoach Association’s 30- year history, this is the first time the show has been held outside Maryland.

“This is a great accomplishment,” said Norris Flowers, President of the Gettysburg CVB. “To hold the Maryland Motorcoach convention in Pennsylvania is indicative of the hard work done throughout the tourism community in Adams County.”

On March 24, the convention marketplace will bring together hundreds of tour operators and destinations to organize trips in upcoming months and years. As the host destination, it is also a great opportunity for the Gettysburg CVB to showcase the town of Gettysburg and Adams County.

“Throughout the show, many of Gettysburg’s attractions, accommodations, restaurants and stores will be front and center with tour operators who build itineraries for thousands of visitors each year,” said Flowers.

The Maryland Motorcoach Group Leader Marketplace will be held at Eisenhower Hotel, Conference Center and Resort on Business Route 15, south of Gettysburg.

“For 2010, Gettysburg is a great day trip for most of the Maryland operators and day trips are what most of the seniors are asking for this year and next year,” said Carol Joyce, secretary/treasurer of the Maryland Motorcoach Association.  “Gettysburg has made so many changes that those who have visited before can return for a whole new trip.”
