Dedication Day to feature 'For The People' performance

This year, Dedication Day – Gettysburg’s annual tribute to the Gettysburg Address – is featuring a special performance, “For The People,” an oratorio composed and conducted by John William Jones, Professor of Music, and The Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College. Special guest narration will be provided by distinguished actor of stage and film, Stephen Lang.
“For The People,” will feature the Spires Brass Band with Kathleen Sasnett, soprano, Jeffrey Fahnestock, tenor, Roosevelt Credit, bass-baritone, The Sunderman Conservatory Woodwind Octet, and the Victorian Dance Ensemble.
The performance is composed in honor of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial. The event features texts from “Of The People, By The People, For The People”, popular songs of the day, and biblical verse.
