Alison Krauss & Union Station returns to the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival

The Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival recently announced the addition of Alison Krauss & Union Station to the already outstanding May concert lineup.
 
After a more than 10 year hiatus, the bluegrass supergroup will return to the Gettysburg stage, joining such bluegrass luminaries as Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, The Seldom Scene, Blue Highway, Mountain Heart and Dale Ann.

Alison Krauss & Union Station will close out the May festival with a single performance on Sunday, May 16, at 7 p.m. The Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival is offering a limited number of early bird discount tickets. Early bird tickets for Sunday are $50 and will go on sale on Saturday, Feb. 20 at noon.

Granite Hill Camping Resort has been home to the internationally acclaimed Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival since 1979, with its 60th and 61st events scheduled for 2010. Each festival features top bluegrass and traditional country musicians performing on our main stage, presenting informative workshops and meeting and greeting fans from all over the world.

The spring festival is scheduled for May 13-16, 2010, and the fall festival will be held August 19-22, 2010. In addition to the festivals themselves, the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival will also feature Pete Wernick’s Jam Camp, during the week leading into the May 2010 festival, and their 9th Annual Gettysburg Bluegrass Academy for Kids, set for August 19-22, 2010, for kids from kindergarten through 12th grades.
The Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival, hosted by Cyndie and Rich Winkelmann and held at Granite Hill Camping Resort, is an internationally acclaimed bluegrass festival that has taken place twice a year since 1979.  Each festival features more than 20 top Bluegrass and Traditional Country musicians performing on the main stage, presenting informative workshops and meeting and greeting fans from all over the world. The festival will also be home to numerous food, merchandise, and craft vendors throughout the event. There are also a number of other activities on-site to entertain the whole family such as fishing, swimming, boating, and miniature golf.
