Actor Stephen Lang will appear at the sixth annual “Sacred Trust: Gettysburg Perspectives” lecture series July 2-4 at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center. Presented by the Gettysburg Foundation, the event will begin Friday, July 2, at 11:30 a.m.

Actor Stephen Lang will join Dr. Gabor Boritt for a presentation about Gettysburg on Saturday, July 3 at 12:30 p.m. Lang, star of last year’s blockbuster “Avatar,” is best known to Gettysburg enthusiasts for his portrayal of Gen. George Pickett in the movie, “Gettysburg” and Gen. Stonewall Jackson in “Gods and Generals.” Boritt is the director emeritus of the Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College and author of “The Lincoln Enigma” and “The Gettysburg Gospel: The Lincoln Speech That Nobody Knows.”

A complete schedule of presenters is available at www.gettysburgfoundation.org.

The lecture series is free and open to the public, and most authors and historians will be signing books after their presentations. Books are available in the museum bookstore, or online at www.gettysburgfoundation.org.

The Gettysburg Foundation presents the Sacred Trust lecture series each year to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, and it complements other activities at the Visitor Center, including the National Park Service’s special battle anniversary programs, held July 1-3.

In addition to the Sacred Trust lecture series, the Gettysburg Foundation will present an “Evening with the Painting” program on Friday, July 2, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Visitor Center. Participants will join Licensed Battlefield Guide and Cyclorama painting historian Sue Boardman for an “after-hours” viewing of the massive Gettysburg Cyclorama painting. Tickets are available in advance at www.gettysburgfoundation.org or by calling (877) 874-2478. Tickets are also available for purchase at the ticket counter in the lobby of the Visitor Center.

Information about these and other upcoming programs can be found at www.gettysburgfoundation.org.
