The International Museum of Spiritual Investigations will kick off its latest program, “Travel Haunts,” in one of the most haunted sites in the world – Gettysburg, Pennsylvania – from Aug. 20-22, 2010.

A program designed by professional paranormal investigators, Travel Haunts aims at enhancing the historic and spiritual experience through expeditions at haunted locations.

Organizers unveiled Travel Haunts in May 2010 with the first location in Gettysburg.

Participants who purchase the full weekend package will start Friday off with a small meet-and-greet with the staff of the International Museum of Spiritual Investigations, who will take them on the expeditions and investigations throughout the weekend.

The next day, participants will begin with a briefing from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m., followed by lunch before heading out to locations throughout the Gettysburg area. From noon until 5 p.m., participants will take part in a tour, showing the landscape, history and ghostly encounters reported in the region.

Later, the group will head to the Fairfield Inn, where they will enjoy dinner and discussion of the night’s investigation. After dinner, participants will be briefed on what they may encounter at the Fairfield Inn. The investigations begin at 8 p.m. and guests have the opportunity to explore the Fairfield Inn with the help of the Soul Trackers Paranormal Analysis Team, the crew that operates the IMSI investigations.

The second investigation, which will be disclosed that night, will begin at 11 p.m. Participants will meet back up Sunday morning at 11 a.m. to discuss the investigations.

The program costs $400 and includes meals, transportation, a DVD, memories book, T-shirt and all activities. Rooms can be booked at the Comfort Suites, 945 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, at a rate of $99. Mention “Travel Haunts” when booking.
