Organizers of the Annual Gettysburg Civil War Battle Re-enactment have packed four full days of battle re-enactments, living history encampments, demonstrations, music, story-telling and even a few Civil War weddings.

Beginning Friday, July 2, the re-enactment will open to thousands of spectators at the Redding Farm, 1085 Table Rock Road, north of Gettysburg.

Throughout the next four days, the re-enactment will feature events and activities such as medical demonstrations, entertainment, fashion shows, talks by Civil War generals, live mortar demonstrations and concerts by such bands as the 2nd South Carolina and the 46th Pennsylvania.

The long weekend also includes such activities as a lecture on Civil War spies, talks about the making of the movie, “Gettysburg,” ghost stories and two Civil War weddings.

The highlight of the annual event – the re-enactments – will feature the following battles: The Battle at Brickyard, the Cavalry Fight at East Cavalry Field, The Wheatfield, Hunterstown, Pickett’s Charge and the Retreat from Gettysburg.

Tickets and a full schedule of events and activities are available by calling (717) 338-1525 or by visiting www.gettysburgreenactment.com.
