Liberty Mountain to host New Year's Eve Celebration

Liberty Mountain Resort will host a New Year’s Eve Celebration on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010. The event will include a large variety of festivities around the resort for all ages from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Special late-night skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing will be available until 1 a.m. for guests who want to ring in the New Year under the stars and on the slopes. Late-night lift ticket prices start at $20 for adults and $16 for juniors. The slopes will also feature a grand fireworks display at midnight from the top of the mountain that will be seen from all over the resort and neighboring Carroll Valley.
For those looking for a more formal affair, the New Year’s Eve Gala will feature singer-songwriter Ronnie Dove in the Jacqueline Ballroom beginning at 9pm and a gourmet dinner buffet beginning at 6 p.m.
Traditional New Year’s Eve merriment including party favors, champagne toast, balloon drop and late-night snacks will also be part of the show. A complete package for couples is available for $350 and includes dinner for two, two admissions to the gala, and an overnight stay at the Liberty Hotel with complimentary breakfast on New Year’s Day morning.
Tickets for the concert and dinner buffet are $100 per person. Packages and tickets can be purchased by calling the resort at (717) 642-8282, ext. 3300. The suggested dress for this event is semi-formal.
Family-friendly festivities will be available in both the Alpine Room and at Boulder Ridge Snow
Tubing. The Alpine Room will feature kids’ activities from 6 to 8 p.m. including a balloon artist, cookie decorating and a magician that will perform throughout the evening. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., a disk jockey will provide music for karaoke and dancing. Guests will be able to watch the Times Square party in New York City on the big screens and enjoy some of the best seats in the house for the fireworks display at midnight. A special late-night buffet with pizza, wings, ice cream and other snacks will be available in the Alpine Market for guests to purchase. Admission to the Alpine Room is free.
Additionally for families, Boulder Ridge Snow Tubing will host a party with late-night snow tubing from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. A disk jockey will entertain with music and karaoke, and a special all-you-can-eat buffet will be available. Tickets for the three -hour tubing session and buffet are $45 per person. Tickets are limited so guests are encouraged to purchase in advance online at www.skiliberty.com.
The resort’s mountainside restaurant McKee’s Tavern will be open for the over-21 crowd who want to celebrate with great food, live music and celebratory drinks. The Freddie Long Band will perform popular cover songs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., with party favors and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight for all guests.
