The American Civil War Wax Museum Complex, in conjunction with American Stories: Historic Walking Tours & Programs, will offer interactive summer programming for visitors. “Enlist Now!” will give ‘new recruits’ a first-hand look at what life was like for the common Union soldier. Recruits will learn how to march, learn drills and be able to experience what it was like to enlist in the Union army.
“The Enlist Now!” program was introduced at the museum during the 2010 season, and proved to be extremely successful. The program will take place on five Saturday evenings during the summer. The dates of the program are June 25, July 2, 16, 23 and 30, 2011. The program will begin promptly at 7 p.m. The cost to participate in the 1-hour program is $15 per person. All recruits will receive a kepi that they can take home with them. The program is suitable for all ages. Group size for the program is a maximum of 35 people. Additional programs can be added to accommodate larger groups. This is an outdoor program; recruits are encouraged to dress appropriately.
