Only Civil War period dining experience in Gettysburg. Period fare served by period dressed servers in historic inn with over 100 bullet holes in exterior south wall. Some specialties include game pie, peanut soup, spoon bread and pumpkin fritters, steak and seafood dishes. Family friendly Tavern: Sweney's Tavern serves lite fare with a touch of Pennsylvania Dutch. Garden dining is available in season/Dine along waterfalls and award winning garden. Children's menu. AAA recommended. Only restaurant in Gettysburg to have been reviewed by Bon Appetit magazine. They wrote "History never tasted so good".
