The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg played a critical role in the three-day battle in 1863. The building in the middle - known at the time as "Old Dorm" - is being rehabilitated into a world-class museum, dedicated to Civil War medicine, faith and race issues that led up to the war.
